2020
For only the second time in 13 years the GPU were not on the beach below the battlements of Walmer Castle on the second Saturday in July.
This was due to the Lord Warden's gathering of Cinque Port Mayors, and members of local charity groups did not take place because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Regardless of the Virus some members have managed to get together for social events. In January six of us stayed for the weekend at the Tudor Lodge Bearstead for our post Christmas celebration. Nick and Sandie joined us for evening meals, and also for Lunch on the Sunday.
Unfortunately for me, the only picture I have from the weekend is of a really fat me, beside a wall decorated with paper roses.
In October a group of us planned to spend a weekend at Littlecote House a Warner's Leisure Hotel, Due to health problems only six of us managed to attend.
As this was in the middle of the pandemic social distancing was the order of the day, as can be seen in the photo below.
Time was taken to use some of the facilities other than the bar, such as the shooting and archery.
In November four members attended a RBL remembrance service in Spain.
